Summary

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Underwriting Manager to join their team. The Underwriting Manager drives underwriting excellence across all energy lines within the designated region. You will own risk assessment, portfolio management, pricing, and compliance for the regional energy book, while developing broker and client relationships and leading and mentoring the underwriting team. 

What you''''ll do:

  • Lead the regional underwriting team, aligning to underwriting guidelines and business strategy. 
  • Manage underwriting of complex risks — upstream, midstream, downstream, power generation, renewables, and related segments. 
  • Develop and execute underwriting plans to achieve regional growth and profitability targets. 
  • Review and authorize submissions and referrals above underwriter authority. 
  • Foster relationships with brokers, clients, and industry partners, and represent at industry events. 
  • Mentor and develop underwriting staff, providing training and supporting professional growth. 
  • Collaborate with global and national teams on product development, market research, and large client deals. 

What you''''ll bring:

  • 15+ years of underwriting experience, general liability experience (Mandatory),financial lines, including a managerial or leadership role. 
  • In-depth knowledge of energy insurance products, regulations, and market trends. - GOOD to Have
  • A proven track record building and managing profitable portfolios. 
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with excellent leadership and communication. 
  • Bachelor''''s degree in Business, Insurance, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or credentials (CPCU, ARM, CII) preferred. 
  • Willingness to travel within the region for client meetings and industry events. 

 

Salary/Rate: $175,000 – $200,000 (depends on experience level) + benefits.
