This senior role ensures all systems comply with federal, DoD, and organizational cybersecurity requirements by driving the development of security documentation, validating control effectiveness, supporting audits, and guiding risk mitigation efforts across multiple classification domains.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in cybersecurity frameworks, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with technical teams, leadership, and external stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding OIG's mission-essential systems and ensuring secure, resilient, and compliant operations.

  • Ensure all security documentation remains accurate, complete, and inspection-ready throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Support and perform security risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and compliance reviews.
  • Document, prioritize, and monitor remediation efforts to ensure alignment with mission and regulatory requirements.
  • Direct enterprise ACAS scanning operations, ensuring accurate asset coverage, optimized scan configurations, and actionable reporting across multiple enclaves.
  • Advise on security controls, compliance strategies, and risk mitigation approaches.
  • Support the creation, management, and closure of Plan of Action and Milestones.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, inspections, and assessments, ensuring complete and accurate evidence repositories.
  • Work with system administrators, engineers, and developers to ensure proper implementation and validation of security controls.
  • Assess system designs, configurations, and processes for compliance with applicable frameworks and best practices.
  • Conduct ongoing control assessments, update documentation, and maintain continuous monitoring requirements.
  • Support monitoring, investigation, response, and reporting of security incidents, ensuring timely mitigation and integration of lessons learned.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on emerging threats, regulatory changes, and opportunities to strengthen security posture.
  • Act as a primary communicator with clients, leadership, and external stakeholders, delivering clear updates, briefings, and recommendations.
  • Convert complex cybersecurity requirements into practical direction for technical and operational teams.
  • Provide training on security best practices, compliance requirements, and secure system operations.
  • Stay current on evolving technologies, policies, and threat trends to recommend enhancements to the organization's security posture.

Qualifications

  • Active TOP SECRET with SCI clearance (required).
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience, or 15+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • IAM Level III certification (e.g., CGRC, Security X/CASP+ CE, CISSP, CISM) required; IAT Level III preferred.
  • Strong understanding of NIST, FISMA, DoD, and organizational cybersecurity frameworks.
