Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to architect, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and production-grade cloud infrastructure supporting the Maryland Benefits platform. This role requires deep expertise in AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, Service Mesh (App Mesh), Consul, and advanced CI/CD automation.
The ideal candidate will lead container orchestration strategy, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementation, GitOps adoption, and infrastructure modernization to support high-traffic enterprise systems and AI-driven workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, deploy, and manage highly available Kubernetes clusters using Amazon EKS
- Design modular and reusable Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform
- Implement and manage AWS App Mesh for microservices traffic control and security
- Design and administer HashiCorp Consul for service discovery and configuration management
- Build and maintain advanced Jenkins CI/CD pipelines (Groovy scripting)
- Lead GitOps transition for cluster and application configuration management
- Implement secure IAM Roles for Service Accounts (IRSA)
- Design AWS networking solutions (VPC, Transit Gateway, Security Groups, NACLs)
- Optimize autoscaling using Karpenter / Cluster Autoscaler
- Support AI/LLM workloads requiring high-compute infrastructure
- Implement Helm-based Kubernetes deployments
- Ensure reliability, scalability, cost optimization, and security best practices
