Summary

ASSYST is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to support our client project in Austin, TX.

Work mode: Hybrid

Position will be 2 days remote with 3 days (Tues & Wed & Fri) required to be onsite.

Project Overview:

Implementation and configuration of the infrastructure for the data integration hub

Design, development, and implementation (DD&I) of the hub using Agile methodology across all SDLC phases, including:

  • Validation of performance metric requirements
  • Creation of Epics, User Stories, and Tasks
  • Automation of data acquisition from multiple data sources
  • Development of complex SQL scripts
  • Integration, load, and stress testing
  • Deployment and publication internally and externally
  • Ongoing operations support and enhancements for the data integration hub
  • This effort will follow the Agile methodology currently used by the client for PMAS development.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical leader guiding an Agile development team through project delivery.
  • Acquire and integrate data from multiple data sources for analytics and reporting purposes.
  • Develop complex and optimized SQL scripts to transform source data into dimensional models, including creation of Oracle views and materialized views.
  • Develop ETL mappings and workflows using Informatica PowerCenter/IICS for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
  • Collaborate with Architects and Data Engineering teams to design and implement optimal data solutions and acquisition strategies.
  • Validate and verify SQL scripts, ETL workflows, and database objects through automated testing approaches.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies, requirements gathering, and design sessions.
  • Develop mockups and collaborate with stakeholders for validation and feedback.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with cross-functional teams.
  • Assist with implementation and configuration of development tools.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, specifications, and diagrams to support DD&I efforts.
  • Analyze changing business requirements and recommend enhancements to meet evolving needs.

Required Experience:

  • Experience developing ETL mappings and workflows using Informatica PowerCenter or Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
  • Experience integrating data from multiple source systems including Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, Access, and Adobe PDF for Tableau reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Strong experience designing and developing efficient Snowflake SQL scripts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience supporting data analytics, performance management, or data warehousing projects.
  • Experience with technical documentation, data modeling, and diagramming tools such as Visio and Erwin.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project.
  • Experience planning and delivering software platforms across multiple organizational units.
  • Proven ability to develop efficient, testable, and maintainable code using software development best practices.

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in Agile sprint teams.
  • Knowledge of security principles related to healthcare, PII, and PHI data.
  • Experience with business intelligence and performance metrics visualization environments.
  • Prior experience in healthcare.
  • Experience developing scripts using Python.
  • Experience with JIRA.
  • Knowledge of REST/SOAP web services.
  • Experience with Java and JavaScript development.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with MuleSoft development.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools such as Snowflake Cortex/Intelligence or Informatica Claire.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent experience.
