Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The group is seeking a Systems Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Engineer to assist in developing our existing codebases for physics and electronic warfare modelling. These MATLAB codebases allow for modelling of sensors, weapons, and electronic warfare capabilities. The engineer will work with the team to understand the features that need to be added to the existing models and the analysis goals. The engineer would leverage their engineering/physics technical background to understand how to model the desired features and capabilities and implement them efficiently in the existing codebase. In addition, the engineer would be expected to further improve the quality of the existing codebase in accordance with software engineering best practices, and effectively perform analysis runs using the codebase.

  • Develops new and/or integrates existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models.
  • Develops software that simulates behavior of users and systems.
  • Develops, integrates and uses graphical user interfaces and visualization tools.
  • Models operational environments, performs trade studies via computer simulation and provides decision support for alternative architectures.
  • Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.
  • May build and design training models.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Independently adding features and capabilities to the existing MATLAB codebase, including the technical background to accurately model basic physics phenomenology in terms of RF propagation, electronic warfare, missile flyouts, sensors etc.
  • Performing quality control on new features and the existing code base to include adding unit tests, and other capabilities to ensure that the results are accurate and that new features are interacting appropriately with the rest of the codebase.
  • Working with the team to understand what new features are required in the codebase to support analysis
  • In consultation with the team, taking responsibility for overall software architecture and quality control of the codebase, including how new features should best be added.
  • Performing modeling runs needed for analysis and building tools that allow for efficient batch runs and analysis of results.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Data Analysis Tool Development using MATLAB
  • Modeling & Simulation
  • Software Development
  • MATLAB Programming
  • Software Architecture

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Active and Passing RF Sensing; Threat Modeling; Platform Dynamics
  • Modeling Sensing Technologies (radar and optical sensors)
  • RF Signals (Antennas, EM Propagation and Modeling, Down-Conversion Receivers)
  • Classified Software Development
  • Aircraft, Missile, Satellite Systems
  • Air Surveillance Systems (e.g. radars)
  • Command and Control (C2) Systems

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE:

  • Two-year contract with the possibility of being extended based on budget/work availability and performance.

WORK MODE:

  • Onsite Candidate should expect to be onsite 5 days a week.

CLEARANCE:

  • Candidates must have an active secret clearance to be considered for this position.

INTERVIEW PROCESS:

  • 1st round interview will be a Zoom with the hiring manager, followed by in person interviews with the group leader and key team members.
