Evolver Federal seeking a highly skilled
Java Developer to join our team in support of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This role is critical in developing and maintaining large-scale enterprise applications within an AWS Cloud environment. You will be responsible for building scalable microservices, ensuring security compliance, and contributing to the technical evolution of the platform across the full software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities: - Cloud Development: Build and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS services (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, S3, SQS) within a Linux environment.
- Microservices Architecture: Independently develop and unit-test loosely coupled, event-driven services using Spring Boot and PostgreSQL (RDS).
- Local Development Workflow: Maintain a high level of productivity within containerized environments; proficiently utilizing Docker and LocalStack to run, debug, and validate microservices locally in a self-contained ecosystem.
- SDLC Integration: Actively participate in an automated Jenkins CI/CD workflow, taking ownership of code quality and successful deployment through local containerized validation.
- Technical Documentation: Contribute to and maintain architectural patterns, decision logs, and technical rationales to ensure clear communication across the dev team and stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or 3 years of equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of hands-on experience in Java 11+ and the Spring Ecosystem (specifically Spring Boot and Spring Data).
- 5 years of experience developing for AWS environments (specifically ECS/ECR, Fargate, S3, ALB, and IAM).
- 5 years of experience with PostgreSQL (SQL optimization) and asynchronous messaging via AWS SQS.
- 2 years of experience in using Splunk and New Relic (or similar) for proactive system logging, debugging, and performance monitoring.
- 2 years of testing experience with emphasis on JUnit/Mockito and local integration testing using containers.
- or Permanent Resident required, and all applicants shall have lived in the United States for at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check that includes a client-specific Public Trust background investigation
Preferred Qualifications: - AWS Solutions Architect Certification (Associate).
- Frontend Familiarity: Experience with React or Angular to assist in full-stack troubleshooting.
- Advanced Simulation: Prior use of LocalStack to mock AWS services during the development phase.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to decompose complex business requirements into technical tasks.
- Ownership: A proactive "builder" mindset with a high degree of accountability for code performance and security.
- Collaboration: Effective communication skills for peer code reviews and technical discussions.
