Apex Systems is currently hiring for a
Software Systems Engineer with one of our defense clients. The candidate will be responsible for software systems engineering products for their Scrum Team, including development of software products.
Project Details / Mission Supported:
Responsible for performing in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support.
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Onsite expectation: Onsite work, Mon - Thurs, 4x10 hours
Clearance Level: Secret
Salary/Pay range: $70-75/hr.
Qualified candidates will have the following experience and skills:
5+ years of experience doing systems engineering support for team that maintains, debugs and configures related software products in a Java / Linux environment.
Works from specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications.
Assists with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs.
Decompose system requirements to good software level requirements, drive system use cases, CONOPS, and sequences, and develop / update system external interfaces.
Author or assist with proposals.
Perform software design - software product level use cases, sequences.
Create and maintain software design - Algorithm Design Documents, Functional Design Documents.
Desired skills:
o Command and control system application development.
o Automated test and pipeline development experience desired.
o Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms.
o Experience with Software Integration testing including developing automated test scrips.
o Strong problem-solving skills.
o Experience with performance modeling.
o Experience with build management tools and pipelines.
o Prior C2BMC experience.
Experience working within an Agile development environment, domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense, experience with Systems Analysis, Model Based System Engineering, Architecture development, Virtualization, Containerization, and Cloud Computing principles.
Demonstrated experience working large multi-site software development efforts including external interface development.
Demonstrated experience conducting or leading Analysis of Alternatives, Trade Studies and/or Design Evaluations.
Experience designing large command and control and/or weapon systems.
Experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and MBSE tools.
The successful candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to work independently and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment.
