Our client is seeking a Decision Scientist to join an advanced analytics team focused on applying mathematical modeling, optimization, statistics, and machine learning to complex business challenges.
This team operates at the intersection of business strategy, advanced analytics, and technology, helping business partners identify opportunities for analytics, improve decision-making, and drive measurable value. The work spans the full analytics lifecycle, including solution conceptualization, model design and development, implementation, integration into business processes, and ongoing support.
The role will have a particular focus on decision science applications related to revenue management, forecasting, pricing, resource allocation, and optimization.
Day to Day Responsibilities/Typical Day:
- Research, develop, and implement decision science and optimization models that support business objectives.
- Partner with business stakeholders as an analytical consultant to translate complex business challenges into quantitative solutions.
- Research advanced analytical techniques and translate them into practical, sustainable solutions.
- Perform data collection, data mining, statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling.
- Develop decision science algorithms, analytical tools, and supporting systems.
- Model and analyze revenue management, forecasting, pricing, and resource-allocation challenges using mathematical, statistical, optimization, and simulation techniques.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations to business partners in a clear, actionable manner.
- Identify and apply advanced analytics best practices across multiple business areas.

Requirements:
- Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Econometrics, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with at least one of the following optimization or decision science areas:
- Decision analysis or multiple-criteria decision making
- Mixed-integer optimization
- Nonlinear optimization
- Stochastic optimization
- Discrete-event simulation and stochastic models
- Proficiency in at least one computing area:
- General-purpose programming such as Python, Java, C, or C++
- Statistical computing such as R or SAS
- Scientific computing such as Julia or MATLAB
- Ability to develop and apply quantitative models to real-world business problems.
- Ability to communicate analytical findings and technical concepts to business stakeholders.
Plusses:
- Experience with revenue management or related decision science applications.
- Knowledge of demand forecasting, resource allocation, and pricing.
- Experience applying advanced analytics to business decision-making.
