Overview

We are seeking an experienced contractor to support advanced data development and modernization initiatives within an enterprise HR analytics environment. This role focuses on developing complex database objects, transforming and validating HR data, and supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, and historical data needs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and database objects across multiple relational database platforms.

• Support HR data modernization initiatives by translating legacy database logic into modern cloud-based HR data solutions.

• Design and implement data structures, transformations, and database objects for analytics, reporting, and downstream consumption.

• Utilize enterprise reporting and analytics tools to source, validate, and interpret HR data.

• Analyze HR application functionality and underlying data structures to ensure accurate reporting and data usage.

• Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and analytics teams to define and validate business requirements, metrics, and data logic.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, including data definitions, business rules, source-to-target mappings, data lineage, and governance artifacts.

• Perform data quality validation, reconciliation, and cross-system issue resolution.

• Support additional data engineering and analytics initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

• Advanced SQL expertise, including complex joins, analytical/window functions, query optimization, and performance tuning.

• Hands-on experience with relational database platforms.

• Experience working with enterprise cloud-based HR systems and associated data models.

• Experience with enterprise reporting and data extraction tools.

• Experience supporting or modernizing legacy HR applications.

• Strong understanding of enterprise data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling, fact tables, and historical data design.

• Proven ability to produce clear, well-structured technical documentation supporting data governance initiatives.
