About the Role
We are seeking a Quality Engineer with strong experience in coatings, paint processes, and special manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for ensuring quality standards for coated parts across both internal manufacturing and supplier operations. The ideal candidate will drive compliance, lead investigations, and support continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and audit quality standards, inspection procedures, and work instructions for coated parts
Evaluate product requirements, engineering drawings, specifications, and process documentation
Support both internally manufactured and externally sourced components for coating processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, program management, manufacturing, and supply chain
Lead failure investigations and root cause analysis efforts
Manage Material Review Board (MRB) activities and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory compliance
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and supplier performance
Monitor coating processes such as chem-film, anodizing, passivation, and organic coatings
Support First Article Inspections (FAI) and documentation development

Basic Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of experience in Mil-Spec special processes (heat treatment, stress relief, anodize, chem-film, passivation, coatings)
Minimum 3 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
At least 3 years of experience in paint processing (surface prep, spray painting, thickness testing)
Experience writing work instructions and First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Experience working with suppliers and external manufacturing vendors
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies
Knowledge of aerospace or regulated industry standards
