Description: Our client is currently seeking a Electrical Engineers for a contract-to-hire position.
Electrical Engineer, Test Site Operations
Clearance: Active security clearance required
Experience: 3-7 years
About the Role
As an Electrical Engineer supporting an active Navy test site, you will design, analyze, and review electrical and power systems that support high-demand test operations. You'll work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable electrical infrastructure in a mission-critical environment.
Responsibilities
Develop 2D and 3D electrical designs using AutoCAD for power distribution, controls, and facility systems.
Review technical requirements and translate them into compliant electrical system designs.
Perform cable tray sizing, cable routing, and voltage drop calculations for new and existing installations.
Conduct power system analysis and ensure designs meet NEC and other applicable codes.
Support installation planning, field walkdowns, and design reviews for electrical upgrades.
Collaborate with controls engineers to integrate electrical and control system requirements.
Prepare documentation, drawings, and engineering packages for construction and implementation.
Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide technical guidance during test-site operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
3-7 years of experience in electrical design, power systems, or facility engineering.
Proficiency with AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
Strong understanding of NEC and electrical codes.
Experience with cable sizing, routing, and voltage drop analysis.
Knowledge of electrical controls and instrumentation.
Active security clearance (required).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting military, government, or high-security test environments.
Familiarity with power distribution equipment, grounding, and protective devices.
Ability to manage multiple design packages in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
