Job Title: Quality Engineer II

Location: Columbus, IN, 47201

Schedule: Monday through Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Job Summary:
The Senior Site Quality Engineer leads continuous improvement projects to ensure defect-free manufacturing processes. This role focuses on achieving high-quality standards, meeting customer requirements, and driving business results through technical expertise and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Management: Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, APQP, and PPAP requirements.
Dimensional Engineering: Perform GD&T analysis and use PolyWorks for 3D measurement and part validation.

Problem Solving:

Lead root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) to resolve internal and external quality issues.
Technical Support: Serve as a resource for metrology, SPC, and MSA (Gage R&R) studies.
Continuous Improvement: Utilize Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce scrap, rework, and process variation.
Collaboration: Work with manufacturing, tooling, and customers to manage change and resolve nonconformities.
Mentorship: Coach less experienced team members in quality practices and core tools.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related technical field).

Experience: 3–5 years in manufacturing or engineering, preferably in the automotive industry.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in GD&T, AIAG Core Tools, and metrology software.

Communication: Ability to convey technical data clearly to stakeholders and customers.

Preferred Skills
Experience with CMM programming or 3D scanning.
Knowledge of 6S, welding processes, or Design of Experiments (DOE).
Proficiency in Minitab or advanced Excel for statistical analysis.
