Our Philadelphia area client is seeking a Data Management Lead for a permanent role by way of contract to hire. This position is ideal for a senior data engineering leader who can guide teams, deliver complex solutions, and stay hands on when needed.
The Data Management Lead will guide a team of data engineers while driving the delivery of scalable, high quality data solutions. This leader will oversee people management, ensure successful technical delivery, and remain hands on with engineering work when needed. The role requires a proactive problem solver who can navigate challenges, mentor team members, and consistently deliver results in a fast paced environment.
Position Description
- Lead and mentor data engineering team members, ensuring strong performance and collaboration
- Oversee technical delivery across multiple initiatives, ensuring quality, timelines, and stakeholder alignment
- Drive solution design and problem solving for complex data engineering challenges
- Contribute hands on to data engineering work, including building pipelines and supporting cloud based architectures
- Partner with cross functional teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions
Required Skills
- 10+ years of recent, hands on Data Engineering experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with Databricks (ideally 5+ years)
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure Cloud (ideally 5+ years)
- 4+ years in a Lead role, including managing people, delivering projects, resolving challenges, and driving teams to successful outcomes
- Very strong communication skills and problem-solving skills
- Strong ability to identify solutions, navigate ambiguity, and maintain delivery momentum
Bonus Skills
- Healthcare experience highly preferred, supporting enterprise environments or consulting engagements
