Title: Sr. Snowflake Engineer
Location: Hybrid (Boston, MA)
Duration: 6-12+ months Contract
The Senior Data & AI Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES: List and describe this position’s principal responsibilities in concise, comprehensive statements.
- Design and Development: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable and reliable data pipelines and data warehouse solutions using Snowflake and AWS technologies. Design and implement efficient database models, schemas and structures.
- Platform Administration: Administer and manage the Snowflake environment, including performance tuning, cost optimization, user access control, user onboarding/offboarding, and workload management to ensure optimal performance and security.
- AI Solution Development: Design, build and implement modern AI solutions (both in-house and third-party), integrated with Snowflake Cortex, Amazon Bedrock and other AI/ML models.
- Reporting Tools Management: Manage and support reporting and business intelligence (BI) tools and platforms. Configure custom reports.
- User Support and Training: Provide expert support to end-users on reporting tools, data accessibility, and data best practices, empowering them to extract insights and make data-driven decisions.
- Data Governance & Compliance: Implement data governance, security protocols, encryption techniques, and access control policies in compliance with banking industry regulations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including security, IT, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless data operations.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in data management processes, documentation, and data quality metrics, ensuring high data integrity and reliability
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Indicate the educational level, previous experience, specific knowledge, skills, and abilities required to meet the minimum entry-level requirements for this position. This may include special skills, licenses, certificates, etc.
- Minimum of 15+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering and software development
- 6+ years hands-on experience and advanced-level expertise in Snowflake data warehousing and data platform management.
- 4+ years hands-on experience and advanced-level expertise in AWS cloud services and data-related technologies.
- Proficiency in reporting and BI tools such as Sigma or Omni.
- Experience with programming languages like Python and SQL.
- Experience designing and implementing AI/ML solutions, using AI services like Snowflake Cortex, AWS Bedrock and other modern GenAI models is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead complex data projects
- Highly preferred but not mandatory: working knowledge of core banking systems like Jack Henry and Loan Origination Systems like eNcino
