Description
FMOL (Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady) - Headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA, serves patients across Louisiana and Mississippi through a network of hospitals, clinics, physicians, elderly housing and integrated information systems. FMOL's St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS is looking for a motivated Field Support Technicians to join their new team that specifically support St. Dominic's clinic locations.
St. Dominic Hospital system is splitting their desktop team into 2 separate teams - one that will strictly support the hospital and the new offsite support team will provide support for the clinic locations. This position will be on the offsite support team. This team has 3 main responsibilities - tickets that are escalated from the helpdesk for any hardware/software issues, project based work (upgrades, hardware deployments, new clinic deployments, hardware moves, etc), and also "rounding" at the clinic sites. Rounding is a proactive customer support approach to IT. FMOL has found that Dr.'s and nurses have technical issues that they are finding ways to work around rather than calling the helpdesk to get the issue fixed. The last thing a Dr. or nurse wants to do after a 12 hour shift is to call the helpdesk. FMOL really wants technology to work for the people providing care to patients rather than make their job harder, so FMOL has put a big emphasis on customer service and rounding - where this team will be responsible for popping into clinics and saying, "hey, I am here from IT, are there any technical issues that I can fix right here on the spot." This could entail a wide range of troubleshooting or could entail going through the helpdesk process for them. The Director described it like Disney world service. That is the type of customer service they are wanting at St. Dominic. We will need to do some extra screening to make sure candidates are highly customer service focused. This will be a 6 month contract to start, but if things work out they will convert them to FTEs and make this a permanent team.
Hardware/software that this team is responsible for are computers, laptops, workstations, thin clients, mobile devices, printers, scanners, workstations on wheels, active directory, ServiceNow ticketing system, Microsoft office 365, Windows 11, etc.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $22.00/hr.
