Location : Hampton, Virginia || Chesapeake, Virginia

Overview
Our customer, a leading infrastructure and utility construction provider, is seeking an entry-level CAD Technician to support engineering and design teams in producing high-quality drawings and documentation. This role will collaborate with engineering, right-of-way, land survey, and permitting teams to support project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and edit drawings using AutoCAD based on design specifications
  • Accurately complete markups and incorporate revisions into plans
  • Prepare report graphics and assist in plan set-up and production
  • Support submittals and documentation as needed
  • Maintain quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) standards
  • Communicate effectively with engineering, survey, permitting, and project teams
  • Travel regionally between offices as required
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge and experience with AutoCAD (coursework, internship, or hands-on experience)
  • Ability to interpret and complete markups accurately and efficiently
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions
  • Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and grow

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to electrical distribution design or utility design
  • Prior drafting or internship experience in engineering or infrastructure environments
