Role Overview
We are seeking an AWS Network Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert for our cloud engineering team. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and securing scalable and highly available AWS networking architectures. The position involves leading hybrid-cloud network transformation initiatives and partnering with various teams to ensure robust and efficient network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design secure, scalable, and highly available AWS networking architectures, including Amazon VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and Site-to-Site VPN.
- Develop enterprise network strategies that support cloud adoption and modernization initiatives.
- Lead hybrid-cloud network transformation projects, integrating AWS with on-premises environments.
- Design and implement network security controls aligned with Zero Trust principles, utilizing tools like Security Groups, Network ACLs, and AWS Network Firewall.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to automate network provisioning and infrastructure deployment.
- Design networking solutions to support containerized workloads, including Amazon EKS and Kubernetes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to infrastructure and cloud leadership, leading architecture workshops and developing technical roadmaps.
- Partner with security architects and platform engineering teams to establish governance, improve operational consistency, and support compliance initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of enterprise networking experience.
- 5+ years of experience designing network architectures in AWS.
- Expertise with Amazon VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, Route 53, and Load Balancers.
- Experience with BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and enterprise WAN architectures.
- Demonstrated experience designing hybrid cloud connectivity solutions.
- Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Experience supporting AWS migration and modernization programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior consulting or client-facing experience is required.
