Summary

Business Analyst

Introduction:

This position involves working as a business analyst on government IT projects, specifically focusing on Medicaid and MMIS (Medicaid Management Information System). The Business Analyst will be responsible for eliciting, mining, and documenting business rules and processes related to healthcare, as well as ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements
  • Document and communicate business rules, processes, and requirements
  • Utilize graphical process flow software to model business processes
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget
  • Provide expertise in the areas of Medicaid and MMIS
  • Communicate effectively with various levels of management and team members

Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):

  • 5 years’ experience in government IT projects as a business analyst or related duties
  • 5 years’ experience eliciting, mining, and documenting business rules and processes
  • 3 years of Medicaid or healthcare experience
  • Understanding of business modeling techniques, including the use of graphical process flow software

PREFERRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):

  • General Subject Matter Expertise in Medicaid or other healthcare insurance
  • MMIS experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Project/Project Server

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or healthcare field

Additional Duties/Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to write requirements and Use Cases
  • Experience in obtaining business processes and requirements information through interviews and document analysis
  • Knowledge of formal business process documentation
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders
