About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled, self-driven
Senior Data & Analytics Consultant to support enterprise-wide data enablement and management initiatives within the Chief Administrative Office (CAO). In this role, you will collaborate closely with business partners to define data requirements, perform detailed data analysis, and design scalable data models that support consistent and reliable data delivery.
This position is well-suited for a candidate who excels in independent work, can manage multiple workstreams, and is comfortable shaping data strategy in a complex, fast-moving environment. Your contributions will directly influence how data is leveraged across key CAO business functions.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, refine, and document requirements for data use cases.
- Design scalable data models and data element relationships with a focus on accuracy, usability, and performance.
- Define requirements for data source integrity monitoring and support database enhancement requests.
- Contribute to logical data design and provide input on database architecture decisions.
- Develop and maintain data management documentation, including data lineage, data sharing agreements, and metadata assets.
- Assess upstream system-of-record changes for potential downstream impacts and provide actionable recommendations.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable data requirements and technical specifications.
- Work closely with technology and data governance teams to ensure alignment with enterprise data standards and frameworks.
Required Qualifications- 4+ years of professional experience in Analytics or equivalent (consulting, military, education, or training).
- Strong experience writing, reading, and optimizing MSSQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with data cleansing, validation, and transformation using Alteryx and SSMS.
- Ability to produce clear documentation for data sourcing, transformation logic, and database/table/column specifications.
- Experience with metadata management and data governance practices.
- Proficiency in data profiling and performing root cause analysis for data quality issues.
Soft Skills- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal oversight.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in complex data environments.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with Google Cloud Data technologies (e.g., Dataplex, BigQuery).
- Familiarity with SSIS packages and job management.
- Experience working within Agile environments and using Atlassian tools (Jira).
