Job Description:
AI Security / AI Governance Specialist

Location: Plano, Texas (Partial Remote - in office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Duration: 6-18 month W2 contract

Role Overview

This role will support standards and governance content related to AI security, AI risk management, AI systems, internal AI tool usage, third-party AI usage, and related control considerations. The resource should understand how organizations govern AI responsibly, including usage expectations, risk considerations, data protection, and lifecycle controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and draft AI security and governance standards, including AI risk management frameworks, system governance, and third-party AI usage considerations.
  • Define standards covering model lifecycle governance, data handling in AI systems, and responsible, secure AI usage.
  • Gather existing materials from various sources to determine what should be retained, retired, or updated.
  • Standardize content into new templates and coordinate feedback with subject matter expert teams.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine and validate AI-related governance content.
  • Contribute to the development of controls and their alignment with policy standards.
  • Support iterative review cycles and ensure content is ready for publication.
Required Qualifications

Experience: Approximately seven years in Cybersecurity, Risk, or AI Governance. Experience with policies, standards, controls, and risk or compliance frameworks is required. Candidates should have a background working with AI/ML systems or AI-related risk frameworks and security governance policy development. An understanding of enterprise risk management principles is also necessary.

Skills: Strong technical writing ability is necessary, with comfort in creating, restructuring, and standardizing content from multiple source materials. The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative environment and enough domain expertise to determine what content belongs in standards versus other documentation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with emerging AI governance practices.
  • Exposure to third-party or vendor AI risk management.
  • Background in highly regulated industries.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
