Lead Java Developer – AWS / Messaging Applications Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Lead Java Developer with strong AWS experience and a background working with enterprise email and messaging applications. The successful candidate will provide hands-on technical leadership in the design, development, and integration of cloud-based application solutions. This position requires strong Java/Spring Boot development skills, practical AWS experience, and familiarity with enterprise email technologies. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded technical lead who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating with other technical teams, and taking ownership of solutions from design through delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Lead application design and development using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS.
- Develop and enhance cloud-based application services and integrations.
- Apply enterprise email and messaging experience to support application development initiatives.
- Design and develop APIs, microservices, and supporting application components.
- Work with AWS services, including Amazon Simple Email Service (SES).
- Provide technical direction, participate in design and code reviews, and mentor other developers.
- Collaborate with architects, development teams, and business stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and drive solutions through successful implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on Java and Spring Boot development experience.
- Solid experience developing and integrating applications using AWS.
- Experience working with enterprise email and messaging technologies, preferably Amazon SES.
- Understanding of email delivery concepts and related application integrations.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and modern application development practices.
- Strong technical leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Amazon Simple Email Service (SES).
- Background developing or supporting enterprise email applications.
- Familiarity with AWS messaging and event-driven application patterns.
- Experience leading development efforts while remaining hands-on with coding and implementation.
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced Java technical lead with a strong AWS background and practical exposure to enterprise email or messaging solutions. They are comfortable working across application development and integration activities, take responsibility for technical outcomes, and communicate effectively with both technical and business teams.
