Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical design specifications
- Develop, test, and debug mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and SQL
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software solutions are aligned with business objectives
- Identify and resolve technical issues and bugs in a timely manner
- Optimize application performance and enhance system scalability
- Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
- Document software changes and provide end-user support and training
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Proven experience as a Mainframe Developer or similar role
- Strong knowledge of programming languages, including COBOL, JCL, and SQL
- Experience with IBM mainframe systems and tools
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
