TITLE: Workload Automation Administrator (GECS)
LOCATION: Schaumburg, IL hybrid or fully remote in US

Responsibilities:
- Administer, configure, and maintain batch schedules and calendars within GECS.
- Create, modify, and decommission batch jobs, including setup of job dependencies, triggers, and runtime parameters.
- Manage large, complex job batches including jobs that submit additional batch groups (e.g., using GECSBATS utilities).
- Ensure proper sequencing and maximize throughput according to operational standards and SLAs.
- Work with Release Management to roll out new jobs and update existing jobs as needed throughout weekly deployment cycles.
- Monitor batch job execution and proactively identify failures or performance anomalies.
- Investigate job failures and implement corrective actions or escalate as required.
- Configure GECS event notifications and ensure integration with external monitoring/reporting systems as needed (e.g., job event file outputs).
- Maintain documentation of incidents, resolutions, and recurring corrective actions.
- Generate daily/weekly/monthly operational reports on job performance, failures, runtime trends, and SLA adherence.
- Use GECS job event logs and exported event files to support operational reviews and audits.
- Support audit and compliance functions requiring documentation of scheduling activity, job status, and historical execution logs (SOX/PCI relevant).
- Participate in disaster recovery testing related to batch job restore procedures.
- Ensure job scheduling practices support processing continuity across shift changes.
- Maintain and update operational documentation related to batch scheduling and GECS configuration.
- Work with infrastructure, application, release management, and support teams to coordinate new job setups and system changes.
- Provide 24x7 support for critical batch job issues as part of an on-call rotation.
- Apply ITIL Principles and best practices, including incident, problem, change, availability, and configuration management.
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of Priority 1 incidents in a 24x7 environment, including major incident management calls.
- Document standards, procedures, technical guides, and knowledge articles to support operational consistency.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- This position will provide leadership and instruction to a team of onshore and offshore computer operators in a matrix managed organization.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of GECS workload automation tools or similar
- Relevant technical certifications preferred.
- 2–3 years of related experience supporting batch job management using GECS or comparable like Control M, IBM Workload Automation, Tidal Workload Automation, JAMS, Stonebranch, RunMyJobs, ActiveBatch Workload Automation, etc.
- Experience using and/or integrating with BMC Helix highly desired.
The compensation range for this position is $80,000.00 to $87,500.00 + bonus (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
