Senior AI/ML Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior AI/ML Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Python, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, data engineering, and production AI/ML solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting production-grade AI/ML applications and data-driven solutions in enterprise environments.

Recent hands-on experience in education technology, higher education, EdTech, e-learning, LMS, student platforms, or learning technology is mandatory.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate experience applying AI/ML technologies to real-world business problems and taking models and solutions from development through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement AI/ML solutions using Python.

• Develop machine-learning, predictive-modeling, and data-driven solutions.

• Build scalable data-processing, analytics, and machine-learning pipelines.

• Work with large and complex structured and unstructured datasets.

• Perform data analysis, feature engineering, statistical modeling, and model evaluation.

• Develop, integrate, deploy, and maintain AI/ML models in production applications.

• Develop solutions involving NLP, computer vision, predictive analytics, and other machine-learning techniques as applicable.

• Build cloud-based AI/ML and data solutions using AWS.

• Work with AWS services including S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS, SQS, SNS, and Redshift.

• Develop APIs and backend services using Python frameworks.

• Work with PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL-based data platforms.

• Containerize applications and ML solutions using Docker.

• Work with Git, Linux, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.

• Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve production AI/ML applications and data pipelines.

• Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, technical documentation, and production support.

Required Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of professional software, data, or ML engineering experience.

• Strong hands-on Python development experience.

• Strong hands-on experience with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

• Recent hands-on experience in education technology, higher education, EdTech, e-learning, LMS, student platforms, or learning technology.

• Experience with Scikit-learn.

• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, or similar ML frameworks.

• Strong experience with Pandas, NumPy, and PySpark.

• Strong SQL experience.

• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or Oracle.

• Strong experience with AWS.

• Experience with Docker, Git, Linux, and CI/CD.

• Proven experience taking machine-learning models into production.

• Experience developing scalable data and ML pipelines.

• Strong understanding of software engineering and machine-learning principles.

• Strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Critical Requirement – Education / EdTech Experience

Recent education-platform experience is mandatory.

Candidates should have recent hands-on experience developing, supporting, integrating, or enhancing technology used in areas such as:

• Higher education and universities

• Online education

• E-learning platforms

• Learning Management Systems (LMS)

• Student engagement platforms

• Student enrollment systems

• Student information platforms

• Continuing education

• Workforce education and training

• University technology platforms

• Education data and analytics platforms

• Digital learning applications

The candidate should be able to clearly explain the education platform or application they worked on, the users or business function it supported, their specific technical responsibilities, and the AI/ML technologies they implemented.

General AI/ML experience without relevant recent education-platform experience will not satisfy this requirement.

Critical Requirement – Production AI/ML Experience

Candidates must have hands-on production AI/ML experience.

Relevant experience may include:

Coursework, academic projects, research-only experience, or proof-of-concept work without production implementation will not be sufficient.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a senior AI/ML engineer who combines strong Python, machine learning, data engineering, cloud, and production deployment experience with recent experience building technology solutions for the education or higher-education ecosystem.

The candidate should be comfortable working across AI/ML development, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, model deployment, enterprise integrations, and production support, while collaborating with engineering, data, architecture, and business teams.
