Support & Knowledge Transfer Specialist

Client: Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development

Work Arrangement: Remote

Engagement Term: 4 Months

Location: 600 E. Main Street, Richmond, VA 23219

Position Summary

The SharePoint Support & Knowledge Transfer Specialist will provide User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support, end-user training, technical documentation, and post-deployment assistance for the Department s intranet solution. This role ensures DHCD staff are fully equipped to independently manage, maintain, and support the SharePoint environment following implementation.

Key Responsibilities

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Support

Support planning and execution of UAT activities

Assist in documenting, tracking, and resolving defects and issues

Coordinate with technical teams to ensure timely issue remediation

Validate fixes and confirm system readiness for deployment

Training & Knowledge Transfer

Develop and deliver structured training sessions (virtual or onsite) for up to five (5) DHCD staff members

Provide hands-on instruction on intranet administration, content management, and basic troubleshooting

Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to ensure long-term sustainability

Documentation Development

Create comprehensive user guides and administrator manuals

Develop maintenance procedures and troubleshooting documentation

Produce step-by-step reference materials and quick-start guides

Post-Deployment Support

Provide up to three (3) months of post-deployment technical support

Troubleshoot system issues and provide timely resolutions

Support end users with system navigation and functionality questions

Assist with configuration adjustments and minor enhancements as needed

Minimum Qualifications

3 5 years of experience providing SharePoint support or general IT support

Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes

Demonstrated experience developing user documentation and training materials

Experience delivering end-user training (virtual and/or onsite)

Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting SharePoint Online or Microsoft 365 environments

Strong documentation and instructional design skills

Ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly materials
