Location: Richmond, Virginia (Remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking an Exposure Management Engineer to support a critical project. This role focuses on leading the technical onboarding, configuration, and integration of a new exposure management platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in attack surface management, vulnerability management, and cloud security, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable security insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical onboarding and configuration of the new exposure management platform.
- Coordinate data source integrations across cloud, identity, infrastructure, and vulnerability scanners.
- Validate ingestion accuracy, asset correlation, and exposure signal quality.
- Partner with engineering, cloud, IAM, and application teams to ensure successful rollout.
- Assist in defining workflows, reporting structures, and remediation processes aligned with CTEM cycles.
- Document integration steps, system behavior, and operational procedures.
- Discover, map, and inventory external and internal attack surfaces.
- Identify unknown, shadow, or misconfigured assets contributing to exposure.
- Prioritize remediation based on active threats, exploitability, and operational criticality.
- Partner with internal teams to guide remediation plans and track progress.
- Contribute to scoping CTEM cycles and defining focus areas.
- Maintain standards, processes, and documentation for exposure management activities.
- Provide clear metrics and reporting to leadership on exposure trends and risk posture.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of attack surface management, vulnerability management, cloud security, identity security, and network fundamentals.
- Experience with CTEM aligned workflows or continuous risk reduction programs.
- Ability to interpret complex exposure data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Hands-on experience with exposure, vulnerability, or ASM tooling (e.g., ASM, CSPM, CIEM, VM scanners, EASM, attack path analysis tools).
- Knowledge of threat modeling, attacker techniques, and modern exploitation trends.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
