Position: Terraform Infrastructure Engineer (Onsite)

Location: Spring, Texas (Local Only within 50 miles)

Duration : 6+ months

 

Job Description: 

Job Summary:

•         We are seeking a skilled Terraform Infrastructure Engineer to support enterprise infrastructure hosted in a disconnected Azure environment.

•         This role is primarily focused on Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Azure engineering, automation, platform reliability, and enterprise application support.

•         The successful candidate will upgrade and enhance an existing Terraform codebase supporting a large-scale enterprise platform environment.

•         This individual will be responsible for improving automation, standardizing deployments, strengthening security controls, supporting platform upgrades, and optimizing Azure infrastructure. Experience supporting GIS platforms such as ArcGIS Enterprise is beneficial but not required.

 

Primary Job Functions:

•         Infrastructure as Code & Automation (60%)

•         Update, troubleshoot, and enhance enterprise Terraform code.

•         Develop and improve reusable Terraform modules.

•         Manage Terraform state and deployment workflows.

•         Support automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.

•         Improve infrastructure consistency through code standardization.

•         Support CI/CD integration for infrastructure deployments.

•         Azure Engineering (25%)

•         Administer Azure-based infrastructure supporting enterprise applications.

•         Manage virtual machines, storage, networking, load balancing, and identity services.

•         Implement and maintain RBAC and security controls.

•         Support disaster recovery and high-availability solutions.

•         Identify, communicate, and implement Azure cost optimization opportunities.

•         Enterprise Platform Administration (10%)

•         Support enterprise application environments hosted in Azure.

•         Troubleshoot application availability and performance issues.

•         Participate in modernization and lifecycle management efforts.

•         Database Infrastructure Support (5%)

•         Support SQL Server infrastructure used by enterprise applications.

•         Partner with database administrators to maintain platform stability and performance.

 

Job Requirements:

•         5+ years of Terraform experience and administering Azure in enterprise environments.

•         Expert knowledge of Infrastructure as Code principles.

•         Experience maintaining large Terraform codebases.

•         Strong understanding of Terraform modules, state management, workspaces, variables and secrets management, CI/CD integration, automated deployments, and Git workflows

•         Strong knowledge of Azure networking, Azure VMs, Storage Accounts, Network Security Groups, Load Balancers, Identity and Access Management, RBAC, Disaster Recovery, and Azure governance

•         Experience with GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps & supporting Infrastructure as Code deployment pipelines.

•         Experience with version control and change management processes.

•         Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

•         Ability to work across infrastructure, security, networking, and application teams.

 

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

•         Experience supporting ArcGIS Enterprise environments.

•         Experience supporting Azure environments in regulated or disconnected networks.

•         Experience supporting large SQL Server environments.

•         Cloud security best practice implementation

•         High-availability and disaster recovery architecture experience

Familiarity working within the Agile framework
