Job Description

Olsson's Facility Engineering and Design Team is a recognized leader in delivering innovative, high-performance solutions for complex projects across multiple sectors-including large commercial developments, healthcare facilities, laboratories, educational institutions, data centers, and military installations. Our team combines engineering analysis, design expertise, and consulting services to ensure world-class quality and reliability.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be a trusted technical leader and mentor, guiding teams through challenging projects that demand creativity, precision, and collaboration. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives on complexity, excels in diverse environments, and is passionate about shaping the next generation of engineering talent.

What You'll Do
  • Lead structural design for varied and complex projects, integrating innovative engineering solutions across multiple materials (steel, concrete, wood, masonry).
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, fostering skill development and professional growth.
  • Perform advanced structural analyses and present findings in clear, comprehensive reports.
  • Oversee project management, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Stay current with advancements in structural engineering and incorporate cutting-edge practices.
  • Engage with clients to understand technical needs, provide strategic insights, and support business development by showcasing Olsson's technical capabilities and expertise.

Qualifications

You bring to the team:
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and mentor engineering teams.
  • Master's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (structural emphasis) preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of structural engineering experience (preferred: 12+ years) with a focus on facilities design and project leadership.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Proficiency in structural design and drafting software; experience with Autodesk Revit preferred.
  • Experience with Post Tensioned Concrete Design preferred.
