Role Summary
This position involves supporting data center decommissioning and asset management projects at on-site facilities. It requires individuals to perform detailed inventory, equipment removal, cable management, and site cleanup activities. The role demands a focus on safety protocols, documentation accuracy, and efficient execution of project tasks in a fast-paced data center environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inventory assessments of lab spaces, including asset identification, utilization, and physical condition.
- Remove unused or decommissioned equipment, including unbolting rack mounted hardware and preparing items for disposal.
- Safely identify, trace, and remove abandoned or disconnected cabling from raised floors and cable runs.
- Assist with the dismantling and removal of racks, cabinets, and other lab infrastructure components.
- Support asset handling by labeling, palletizing, and documenting decommissioned equipment per client requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout all phases of the decommissioning process.
- Follow safety procedures and access protocols consistently during on-site operations.
- Manage Jira tickets related to assigned tasks, ensuring timely updates and issue resolution.
- Document inventory, cleanup activities, and asset disposition with photographs and written reports.
- Provide artifacts and detailed records of removal and decommissioning efforts, including cables, packaging, and equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in data center asset management, equipment decommissioning, or similar technical environments.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as rack removal, cable extraction, and facility cleanup.
- Strong attention to detail for inventory documentation, serial number tracking, and reporting.
- Knowledge of safety protocols pertinent to data center and lab environments.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions and project tickets within Jira.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work on-site in a data center environment with physically demanding tasks.
- Good communication skills for reporting issues, documenting activities, and coordinating with team members.
- Availability to work consistent hours and meet project deadlines.
- Eligible to work in the required location, with necessary work rights.
Publishing Pay Range: $25.00 - $33.00 Hourly
