Job Purpose

What does a great Data Center Admin Associate do for Fiserv?

You will provide mid-level technical support in Fiserv’s Mission Critical Data Centers. In this role you will be expected to maximize DC Ops' customer-facing support model across the enterprise by providing your skills in IT solutions to include strong administrative support skills, ability to articulate instructions both verbally and in writing, Service Now ticketing administration, equipment installations, cabling, and documentation in accordance with Fiserv DC Ops program standards. This role will also provide value by understanding and supporting documentation, process development, work instructions, and regular process updates based on Manager and Director feedback.

  • Familiarity with a 24x7x365 high-availability data center.
  • Previous experience with team SharePoint sites.
  • Familiarity with ITIL V3 and Change Management principles.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal groups and business units to meet data center support requirements and deliver business value.
  • Support small to medium-sized projects, follow project implementation plans, communicate and coordinate with internal and external resources as needed.
  • Perform routine production and non-production administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of IT hardware.
  • Understand technical documentation for infrastructure solutions, policies, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Be familiar with current and planned architectural documentation.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records, inventories, project documentation, and operational reporting.
  • Experience utilizing enterprise ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, or similar incident, request, change management, and workflow tracking platforms.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through written instructions, technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), methods of procedure (MOPs), and process updates.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, evaluate solutions, and make sound operational decisions in a production data center environment.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing a Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platform for asset management, capacity planning, rack management, power monitoring, inventory tracking, and operational reporting.
  • Experience with SunBird dcTrac or a comparable DCIM solution preferred.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration

  • Bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED.
  • Minimum of three years' experience or familiarity working in a 24x7x365 production data center.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience installing low-voltage communication cabling (Fiber and Cat6), IT hardware, and peripherals.
  • Minimum of three years' experience utilizing ServiceNow or a comparable ticketing/workflow management system.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, work instructions, and operational procedures.
  • Demonstrated critical-thinking and decision-making skills in support of mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Flexibility with staffing times.

Preferred Skills for Consideration

  • ITIL Professional Certification.
  • Experience administering or supporting ServiceNow ticket queues, workflows, and reporting functions.
  • Experience using SunBird dcTrac Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) software.
  • Advanced proficiency in data center asset management, capacity planning, documentation management, and operational reporting.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Methods of Procedure (MOPs), and technical documentation.
  • Travel required: Up to 10%.
