Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced CAD Drafter V to support utility and gas distribution projects. This role requires strong hands-on expertise with MicroStation, utility infrastructure documentation, and field coordination. The ideal candidate is fast, detail-oriented, and experienced working in regulated power or gas environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with computer-aided drafting for various industry-related systems
• Convert existing 2D drawings of spare equipment into 3D models
• Use AssetSuite 8 to create make-safe work orders for PECO distribution (4-34kV) to de-energize power for tree and electrical contractors
• Perform site walkdowns and take detailed field notes, including:
  • Pole numbers and locations
  • Disconnects, solids/fuses, transformers
  • Capacitors, reclosers, services, and breakdowns
• Write and issue Clearance Requests (CR) for OCC
• Write and issue Planned Outage Notifications (PON) for outage-affected customers
• Create Material Requests in AssetSuite 8 for ordering and installing new blocking components to PECO infrastructure
• Interface with customers, PECO crews, foremen, and contractors via email, phone, and in person

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must Haves)

• MicroStation experience is mandatory (no MicroStation experience will be disqualified)
• 5+ years of overall CAD experience
• 4-5+ years of hands-on MicroStation experience
• Utility and gas distribution experience
• Proven experience preparing engineering drawings for power facilities or comparable infrastructure
• Ability to prepare drawings supporting conceptual designs developed by engineers
• Proficiency with CAD and design software
• Education: 2-year Technical Degree or equivalent certification minimum (high school only is not sufficient)

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
