Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Automation Configuration Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team supporting advanced industrial automation and manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with PLC programming, automation configuration, electrical schematics, and manufacturing equipment. This role involves developing and maintaining automation configuration files, supporting manufacturing operations, troubleshooting system issues, and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation configuration files for industrial equipment.
• Translate electrical and plumbing schematics into automation configurations and scripts.
• Configure and program PLC-based control systems.
• Support manufacturing teams during machine build, setup, commissioning, and production.
• Troubleshoot electrical, software, and mechanical issues and implement corrective solutions.
• Develop and maintain software installation and deployment scripts.
• Configure, image, and support Windows-based industrial PCs.
• Perform software unit testing, system validation, and functional verification.
• Collaborate with Software, Electrical, Manufacturing, Field Service, and Technical Support teams.
• Improve automation templates, scripting standards, and configuration processes.
• Support customer issue resolution and field service activities when required.
• Prepare technical documentation and configuration records.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or PLC programming.
• Strong experience with PLC programming using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block.
• Experience configuring industrial automation systems and manufacturing equipment.
• Strong understanding of sensors, actuators, I/O systems, and motion control.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control documentation.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
• Experience with Windows administration, software installation, and system configuration.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with semiconductor manufacturing or capital equipment.
• Experience with robotics, industrial machinery, or automated manufacturing systems.
• Experience supporting production environments and equipment commissioning.
• Familiarity with industrial networking protocols and HMI/SCADA systems.
• Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams.
