IT Business Analyst 3

Position Summary

The IT Business Analyst 3 serves as a strategic liaison between business units and IT teams, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable technical solutions. Under general supervision, this role leads the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of requirements for enterprise-level systems and high-impact initiatives. The position also supports planning, design, implementation, and user adoption of new or enhanced business applications while helping drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering sessions, including workshops, interviews, and focus groups with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Analyze, prioritize, and document complex business requirements for technical and functional teams.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, use cases, workflow diagrams, and data models.
• Participate in system design sessions to ensure solutions align with business objectives.
• Partner with Project Managers and Technical Leads to define scope, objectives, deliverables, and implementation plans.
• Support deployment activities, data migration, and rollout of new or enhanced applications.
• Define UAT strategy, develop test scenarios, and coordinate user acceptance testing with business stakeholders.
• Act as a subject matter expert for core business tools and systems.
• Develop training materials, conduct user training, and provide Tier 2/Tier 3 functional support.
• Identify process inefficiencies and recommend automation or workflow improvements.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into structured requirements.
• Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies, including Agile/Scrum and Waterfall.
• Familiarity with SQL, data mapping, reporting tools, or similar data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with business analysis and project tracking tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, ClickUp, Figma, or similar platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of directly related experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or IT project environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• CBAP, PMI-PBA, or similar business analysis certification.
• Experience leading Agile Scrum teams or serving as a proxy Product Owner.
