Digital Content Specialist (ServiceNow / Intranet Content)

Job at a Glance

  • Location: Remote (occasional travel required) 
  • Contract: W2 only, 12 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, update, and maintain intranet pages and content components in ServiceNow Employee Center Pro, ensuring content is accurate, current, and presented consistently.
  • Work closely with the product owner, experience architect, content strategist, writers, implementation partner, and other product team members to deliver and maintain colleague-facing content, tools, and service information.
  • Optimize images, graphics, and other digital assets for performance, clarity, and consistency across the enterprise intranet.
  • Apply approved content strategy through the configuration of page components, layouts, links, tags, metadata, and reusable content patterns to improve usability, navigation, and content findability.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on pages and content to ensure proper functionality, accessibility, formatting, and alignment with content standards before release.
  • Partner with platform and implementation teams to troubleshoot content, layout, and publishing issues and help validate the implementation of new components, templates, and page experiences.
  • Support testing, release readiness, and post-release validation for content and page changes in coordination with product, platform, and implementation partners.
  • Help maintain content governance practices, including content reviews, publishing workflows, archival needs, and adherence to internal standards and policies.
  • Monitor content performance and colleague feedback to identify opportunities to improve engagement, search effectiveness, and access to enterprise content and services, including experiences connected to ERP and other enterprise systems.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of experience working in a content management, web publishing, intranet, or digital content operations role.
  • Experience working with a content management system such as ServiceNow Employee Center Pro, SharePoint, Drupal, Sitecore, WordPress, or a similar platform.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS and the ability to apply them to support content presentation and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with digital asset and design tools such as Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools used to prepare and optimize content assets.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience optimizing images, documents, and page content for quality, performance, and consistency.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across product, content, design, development, communications, HR, and implementation partner teams.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards, content governance practices, and user-centered digital content best practices.
  • Experience supporting employee-facing digital experiences or enterprise platforms that connect content with HR, ERP, or other internal systems is a plus.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital communications, web design, information management, marketing, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ServiceNow Employee Center Pro or other enterprise intranet or employee experience platforms.
  • Experience supporting content governance, taxonomy, metadata, or search optimization for internal digital experiences.
  • Familiarity with using content analytics and using performance insights to improve engagement, findability, and content quality.
  • Experience working in an Agile product team environment and collaborating with technical teams and implementation partners on platform enhancements, testing, and releases.
  • Experience supporting intranet or portal experiences connected to HR, ERP, or other enterprise systems.
