Role Overview
We are seeking a Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Manager for a manufacturing facility in Fresno, TX. This role leads all SHE processes and initiatives by engaging with employees and teams to identify losses, develop and implement solutions, and promote a collaborative safety culture. This leader will partner with SHE teams across the network to share best practices and drive compliance with all applicable safety and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and guide the site SHE vision and strategy as a member of the Plant Leadership Team.
- Provide technical expertise to ensure compliance with SHE regulations, including governmental, state, and industry standards.
- Coach leaders and associates on effective safety leadership and behavioral-based safety processes.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures for facility compliance with major regulatory programs (e.g., RCRA, EPA, Clean Water Act, OSHA).
- Monitor and share information regarding new regulations.
- Develop and implement systems to reduce hazardous waste, increase recycling, and improve conservation practices.
- Lead the plant emergency response team and TPM SHE Pillar.
- Manage Safety team members, developing their competencies and career paths.
- Liaise with local government entities, including TCEQ, DOT, and the Fresno Fire Department.
- Interface with the Engineering team to drive process safety incidents to zero.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in safety, engineering, environmental, or a related discipline is required.
Experience: A minimum of 8 years of related experience, with at least 2 years in an EH&S role within a chemical manufacturing environment. Proven experience as an HS&E leader supporting a team of direct reports is necessary.
Technical Skills: Experience managing internal and external audits and a working knowledge of EPA, PSM/RMP, MOC, OSHA, NFPA, and/or related regulations are required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a safety, environmental, or engineering discipline, or an MBA.
- Previous management experience.
- Experience in the chemical, oil, or gas industries.
- Waste management experience.
- Experience developing and delivering training programs.
- Project management experience, including competitive bidding and contractor supervision.
- Green or Black Belt certification, Certified Safety Professional, and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist.
Compensation & Benefits
This position offers a base salary range of $130,000 to $155,000 annually, with a 15% bonus potential. A comprehensive benefits package is available, including medical, dental, vision, a matching 401k, a company-paid pension, a stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
