Industry: Gaming
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Duration: 12 months +
Pay Rate: $82 - $111/HR (W2 ONLY)
Job Description:
Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)
The Production AI team is our client’s AI enablement function, focused on accelerating the adoption of AI tools and technologies across the company. They partner with teams across the org to design AI-enabled solutions, provide solution architecture consulting, and build shared AI platform capabilities—while creating scalable solutions that empower teams to move faster and create better player experiences.
As a Software Engineer II on the Production AI team, you will help teams identify, design, and deliver AI-enabled solutions. You’ll partner closely with teams across the org to translate ambiguous needs into practical architectures, prototypes, and production systems while contributing reusable capabilities to Production AI’s shared platform.
This role sits at the intersection of solution architecture, platform engineering, and AI enablement. You’ll work directly with teams across AI Foundations and the greater team to apply AI to meaningful business and player problems, establish reusable engineering patterns, and improve how teams build AI-enabled systems. Over time, you’ll expand into broader Production AI initiatives as you build domain expertise.
Responsibilities
- Design AI-enabled solution architectures that integrate models, agents, enterprise context, APIs, and existing systems
- Consult with internal teams to identify high-value AI opportunities and translate ambiguous needs into practical technical approaches
- Build prototypes and production-ready solutions while contributing reusable patterns and capabilities to Production AI’s shared platform
- Diagnose and resolve issues across AI applications, platform services, APIs, integrations, and cloud infrastructure
- Use AI-native development practices—including AI-enabled IDEs, CLI coding agents, specification-driven development, and context engineering—throughout the software lifecycle
- Partner with product, engineering, and AI teams to define requirements and iterate on solution strategies
- Ensure solutions are reliable, maintainable, secure, and usable by technical and non-technical consumers
- Contribute to operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, and documentation of production systems
- Support additional AI Foundations teams with similar solution architecture and platform needs as required
- Contribute to broader Production AI engineering efforts over time as domain knowledge grows
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent
- Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or similar languages
- Experience building, maintaining, or operating backend services, internal platforms, or distributed systems
- Hands-on experience building applications with generative AI models, agentic systems, model APIs, retrieval systems, or similar AI capabilities
- Demonstrated fluency with both IDE-based AI assistants and CLI-based coding agents in substantial software engineering work
- Advanced experience with AI-native development practices such as specification-driven development, context engineering, structured prompting, agent orchestration, tool use, and iterative AI-assisted implementation
- Experience working with APIs, cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform, and debugging production issues
- Ability to independently own and deliver on moderately scoped projects
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing AI solution architectures or reusable platform capabilities for other teams
- Experience building production applications using LLMs, agents, retrieval-augmented generation, or tool calling
- Experience working with third-party vendors or external platforms
- Familiarity with model gateways, agent frameworks, MCP, identity and access patterns, and responsible production use of AI
- Experience building internal tools or platforms for developer or product teams
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring systems
What You’ll Learn / Grow Into
- Designing AI solution architectures for complex enterprise and game-development workflows
- Building shared platform capabilities that make AI solutions easier to develop, operate, and scale
- Partnering across a wide range of teams to identify where AI can create meaningful value
- Expanding into broader AI platform and application development within Production AI
About You
- You enjoy bringing structure and clarity to ambiguous problem spaces
- You are comfortable owning systems end-to-end, from understanding partner needs to delivering improvements
- You think critically about architecture, reliability, maintainability, and usability—not just implementation
- You’re experienced with AI-native development and curious about how AI can improve real-world workflows
