Summary

Overview

Position is for one (1) Supervisor of Engineering Services - Materials, reporting to the Manager of Engineering/Material Services successful candidate. This individual will manage an hourly workforce responsible for planning and implementing technical requirements for design disclosure support and liability documents across all programs. This role is responsible for the sourcing, identification, verification, and maintenance of the Engineering Parts List requirements in Teamcenter and/or CATIA at any stage of disclosure development. This position requires the ability to read and interpret drawings, Common Parts Catalog data, Engineering Bill of Material, product structure, and overall drawing/disclosure development and change processes. These processes are used in the acquisition, fabrication, installation and test phases of all current construction programs including interpreting part definition and data requirements to generate procurement feeds. Additionally, the interpretation of part data in support of hardware procurement and inventory management through the Specification History and parts equivalency process is required.

This position requires knowledge and experience in developing instructions for employees to follow, as well as supporting monthly self-audits of documents for ISO9001 compliance and other audit processes such as the Material Management Accounting System (MMAS), ship certification reviews, and NAVSEA audits.

Electric Boat offers Flexible Work Arrangements that allows some work to be performed remotely and at home, this varies from position to position based on the amount of classified material the department interacts with, as well as other variables. Employee must also be able to work in- office in the Groton facility. Please ask for more details during discussions with the department.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • 4+ years of related experience within a material services environment related to systems management of common parts catalog where ensuring task/project completion in satisfactory manner
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of hourly/contract employee's practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read/interpret technical manuals, disclosures and drawings
  • Ability to write and maintain procedures

Preferred Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience in Material/Engineering/Planning/Supply Chain
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience resposible for direct reports
  • Working knowledge and experience with NX/Teamcenter and CDM/CATIA, SPARs, ELCADD and MRPII
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) for cost and schedule performance

  • Must be a self-motivated individual with a strong project management and systems management background.
  • Strong problem solving capabilities and interpersonal skills are required as well as demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to interface with various levels of management, organizations, union membership and external entities.
