Description

Markon is seeking a Systems Administrator to support the Fort Meade customer by administering and maintaining secure Linux-based infrastructure supporting mission-critical operations. This role is responsible for managing on-premises and cloud environments, automating system administration through DevSecOps practices, and ensuring the availability, performance, and security of enterprise systems. Working closely with software engineers and infrastructure teams, the Systems Administrator supports modern deployment strategies, system optimization, and continuous operational improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based servers and enterprise infrastructure supporting mission operations.
  • Manage and monitor on-premises and cloud computing environments to ensure system availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
  • Collaborate with software development and engineering teams to optimize deployment strategies and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
  • Automate system administration and operational tasks using scripting, Ansible, Terraform, or similar configuration management and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Monitor system health, identify performance bottlenecks, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
  • Implement and maintain system security controls, including access management, firewalls, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, operational procedures, and disaster recovery documentation.
  • Evaluate emerging DevSecOps technologies and recommend improvements to infrastructure automation and operational efficiency.

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of systems administration experience.
  • Strong experience administering Linux operating systems in enterprise environments.
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure and virtualized environments.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with configuration management and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Ansible, Terraform, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex server, operating system, and infrastructure issues.
  • Experience implementing security best practices for enterprise systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps environments and Agile software development teams.
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community or DoD mission systems.

Salary Range

USD $145,000.00 - USD $155,000.00 /Yr.
