Role: Network Voice Administrator

Job Summary
The Network Voice Administrator I provides entry-level technical support for statewide voice, video, data, and wireless network communications. This position supports VoIP systems, network equipment, phone services, video conferencing, and related infrastructure for a large statewide user environment.
The role is responsible for day-to-day network voice operations, troubleshooting, adds/moves/changes, ticket triage, inventory and asset management, documentation, vendor coordination, and supporting network projects. The position works closely with network engineering and other IT teams to maintain reliable and secure communications services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily adds, moves, changes, and incident support for voice and network services.
- Troubleshoot and support VoIP phones, voice network infrastructure, video conferencing, LAN/WAN, switches, routers, wireless access points, and controllers.
- Triage service tickets, diagnose issues, and route requests to the appropriate technical team when necessary.
- Perform copper wiring and phone-related adds, moves, and changes at various sites.
- Travel to designated sites to install, troubleshoot, maintain, or modify phone and network equipment.
- Assist with the testing, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of new voice and network technologies.
- Maintain accurate documentation for voice infrastructure, configurations, maintenance activities, circuits, contracts, and system capacity.
- Support incident response and participate in after-action reviews following critical network or communications outages.
- Maintain network voice hardware and software inventory, including device versions and lifecycle information.
- Assist with updates and maintenance of the TEMS system and process applicable Google Voice orders.
- Coordinate with vendors and consultants for structured cabling, MAC work, circuit services, equipment support, and remote technical assistance.
- Order hardware, network circuits, and other services as required for projects and operational needs.
- Participate in network communications projects by coordinating technical tasks, vendors, schedules, and implementation activities.
- Monitor voice network services and help maintain availability and compliance with established security and technology standards.
- Work collaboratively with Network Services, Enterprise Network, agency IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide support during planned phone cutovers or other after-hours activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational technology initiatives.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of VoIP and voice network technologies.
- Understanding of LAN/WAN networking concepts.
- Experience with routers, switches, wireless access points/controllers, and network communications equipment.
- Knowledge of network troubleshooting and incident resolution.
- Ability to perform phone and network installation, configuration, maintenance, and MAC activities.
- Ability to maintain technical documentation, inventory, and asset records.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, technical teams, and end users.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to network service issues in a timely manner.
Work Environment / Requirements
- Entry-level Network Voice/VoIP position.
- Regular travel to sites may be required for phone, wiring, and network-related work.
- Regular Colorado Driver’s License required.
- Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
- Some evening or off-hours work may be required for planned phone cutovers.
- Ability to perform physical work associated with network and telecommunications equipment and wiring.
