Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Insurance Data Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep expertise in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance data. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of experience working with insurance data, data architecture, and domain modeling within the P&C insurance domain.

This role requires strong understanding of insurance data structures, business processes, and data governance, along with experience in data ontology and semantic data modeling. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and engineering teams to define and implement data models, ontologies, and standards across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for P&C insurance data including policy, claims, underwriting, billing, and risk data.
  • Define and maintain enterprise data models, ontologies, and semantic data frameworks for insurance data domains.
  • Collaborate with data architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders to design scalable and standardized data solutions.
  • Translate insurance business requirements into logical and physical data models.
  • Provide expertise on data governance, data quality, and data standards for insurance data assets.
  • Lead the development of insurance data ontology frameworks to improve data discoverability and interoperability.
  • Support data integration initiatives across multiple insurance platforms and systems.
  • Work closely with analytics and data science teams to ensure accurate and consistent use of insurance data.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to insurance data.
  • Mentor junior analysts and data professionals in insurance data domain best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience working with data in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry.
  • Deep understanding of P&C insurance processes, including:
    • Policy Administration
    • Claims Management
    • Underwriting
    • Billing & Payments
    • Risk & Exposure Management
  • Strong experience with insurance data models and data architecture.
  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise data platforms.
  • Expertise in data governance, data quality frameworks, and metadata management.
  • Strong ability to translate business requirements into data models and technical specifications.
