Performance Test Engineer

Job Title: Performance Engineer with UI Optimization experience
Location: Philadelphia, PA (Onsite)
Duration: 24 plus months

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Performance Engineer with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience to ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of applications and systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in performance testing, monitoring, and system optimization in high-availability environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute performance, load, stress, and scalability testing
• Analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize application performance
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions
• Apply SRE principles to improve system reliability and uptime
• Conduct root cause analysis and provide performance tuning recommendations
• Optimize UI responsiveness, page load times, and rendering performance (e.g., reducing latency, improving Core Web Vitals)
• Automate performance testing and reporting processes
• Support capacity planning and forecasting
  

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong experience in performance testing and engineering
• Hands-on experience with SRE practices and tools
• Proficiency in performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar)
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, or similar)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience in UI performance optimization (e.g., page load optimization, asset optimization, lazy loading, caching strategies)
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in large-scale, high-traffic environments
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
• Exposure to front-end performance tools such as Lighthouse, WebPageTest, or browser dev tools
