Job Description
We are seeking a Python Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python, PySpark/Spark, Databricks, and Azure and a proven ability to design and implement scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines with robust quality, security, and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement batch and streaming data ingestion and transformation jobs using Python and PySpark.
- Build reusable frameworks for data quality checks, error handling, and retry logic.
- Integrate pipelines with CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps or Jenkins, manage artifacts, and support releases.
- Optimize Spark workloads through partitioning, caching, broadcast joins, and memory tuning.
- Implement observability with structured logging, metrics, and tracing for distributed debugging.
- Apply secure coding practices, manage secrets, and handle PII in compliance with policy.
- Collaborate with architects and Data-Ops teams to deliver robust and compliant solutions.
- Create and maintain documentation for frameworks, patterns, and operational runbooks.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and deliver iteratively.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Python, including packaging and virtual environments.
- Strong PySpark/Spark with performance tuning experience.
- Databricks experience with clusters, jobs, notebooks, and Delta Lake.
- Azure experience and CI/CD with Azure DevOps or Jenkins, Git workflows, and artifact versioning.
- Data ingestion for batch and streaming, schema management, and resilient retry strategies.
- SQL proficiency for data processing and validation.
- Test discipline with unit and integration tests and data quality assertions for reproducible pipelines.
- Observability with structured logging, metrics, and tracing in distributed systems.
- Secure coding, secrets management, and PII protection with compliance awareness.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Cloudera/Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Spark, Hive/Impala).
- Quartz scheduling experience.
