Role Summary:
The HL7 Integration Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting HL7 interfaces to enable seamless data exchange between clinical and non clinical healthcare systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, configure, and maintain HL7 v2 and related healthcare interfaces
- Integrate EMR EHR systems, labs, radiology, billing, and third party applications
- Monitor interface performance and troubleshoot data flow issues
- Analyze HL7 messages and resolve errors using interface engines
- Collaborate with clinical, application, and infrastructure teams
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and security requirements
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with HL7 v2 messaging
- Knowledge of interface engines (e.g., Mirth, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody)
- Understanding of healthcare workflows and data standards
- SQL and basic scripting skills
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with FHIR or X12
Healthcare IT or interface certification
