Department Description:The Claims Product Group builds and supports the technology that powers our end-to-end claims lifecycle. We create modern, cloud-based tools that streamline claim intake, processing, and resolution while improving automation, accuracy, and user experience. Our team partners with engineering, operations, and data teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that enhance productivity, ensure compliance, and drive better outcomes for customers and the business.
We build and support core claims products that power eligibility, pricing, intake, adjudication and member communications. Our squads include Product Managers, Tapestry SMEs, developers, designers and testers who work collaboratively to deliver high-quality, compliant and modernized claims capabilities. We integrate Epic Tapestry functionality with custom code, maintain regulatory and security compliance, enhance quality and efficiency through automation and DevOps and use Jira to manage and track our backlogs.

Project Description:The intern will:
- Work on build automation tools using Python or Java to streamline claims data processing, reduce manual effort, and improve system efficiency. Use BOT framework to build automations and reduce manual intervention.
- Develop cloud-based workflows using Azure Functions, Storage, and App Services to build internal applications for business users.
- Create reporting and insights dashboards to help operations teams track claim status, processing speed, and quality metrics.
- Support modernization initiatives, such as migrating legacy components to cloud-native micro services with API integration enabling real-time processing or improving CI/CD pipelines.
Desired Skillsets:- Strong programming fundamentals in Java and Python.
- Basic experience with Azure cloud technologies (or other cloud platforms) such as deploying applications, working with storage accounts, or using serverless components.
- Understanding of AI concepts, such as machine learning models, data processing, or use of OpenAI.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub or other version-control systems.
- Exposure to REST API development.
- Understanding of Containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes (Orchestration).
- Problem-solving mindset, eagerness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively
