Summary

The Compounder is responsible for the accurate preparation and processing of bulk powder and liquid formulations in compliance with EHS and cGMP standards. This role ensures all raw materials are weighed, blended, and processed according to batch records while maintaining quality, safety, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Weigh and verify raw materials according to batch cards and manufacturing instructions.
  • Blend powders and manufacture liquid formulations following approved procedures.
  • Operate and monitor mixers, blenders, tanks, pumps, and related production equipment.
  • Adjust processing parameters to maintain product quality and batch consistency.
  • Collect samples for quality testing (e.g., pH, viscosity, appearance, color).
  • Complete batch documentation, reconciliation, and yield calculations accurately.
  • Follow all SOPs, safety guidelines, and cGMP requirements.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Report equipment issues, material discrepancies, or production concerns promptly.
  • Support packaging and material staging as needed to meet production schedules.

Qualifications
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical or science-related education preferred
Experience:
  • 1–3+ years of compounding or batch manufacturing experience
  • Hands-on experience with powder blending and liquid manufacturing required
  • Experience in cosmetics, personal care, OTC, or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred
  • Familiarity with GMP/cGMP manufacturing environments

Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of batch manufacturing processes
  • Ability to follow detailed batch records and SOPs
  • Knowledge of raw material handling and chemical safety
  • Mechanical aptitude for operating industrial mixers and processing equipment
