Sr. Cloud Engineer

Location: Plano TX - onsite 3 days/week

Job Summary: 

- Design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS using core services (EKS, KMS, S3, EC2, IAM, VPC, RDS, CloudWatch).
- Architect and manage Kubernetes clusters (Amazon EKS), including upgrades, autoscaling, networking, and workload scheduling.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for reusable, version-controlled cloud environments.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.) for automated build, test, deployment, and rollback.
- Enforce cloud security best practices including KMS key management, IAM policies, secrets management, and encryption.
- Monitor and optimize system health, performance, and costs using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and other tools; lead incident response and root cause analysis.
- Automate operational tasks and infrastructure configuration with Python and Groovy/Shell scripting.
- Collaborate with application, security, and DevOps teams to define cloud architecture, review infrastructure changes, and establish standards.
- Drive cloud cost optimization through resource planning, right-sizing, and lifecycle management.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture reviews and best practice development across the organization.

Requirements:
- 6+ years in cloud infrastructure/platform engineering/DevOps (3+ years with AWS, 3+ years with Kubernetes in production).
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services and production-grade Kubernetes.
- Deep understanding of cloud security, identity management, and compliance.
- Experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting (Python, Groovy/Shell) preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Application Developer (CKAD)
- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
