Summary

Position Overview

Production Supervisor is responsible for the safety, quality, training, development, and productivity of the personnel on their shift.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the day-to-day operations in the converting department

  • Ensuring that employees work safely and follow all plant rules and policies.

  • Maintain quality, efficiencies, and production levels set by management. Communicate these standards to employees.

  • Identify improvement opportunities and assist with problem solving activities.

  • Assess the performance and training of converting personnel and determine areas for improvement.

  • Providing training, development and feedback for employees.

  • Establish high morale in area of responsibility by showing fairness and consistency when working with all employees. Maintain confidentiality.

  • Maintain inventories of sheets, inks and other converting supplies.

  • Oversee quality checks including box checks in production processes.

  • Conduct Production/Safety/Quality meetings with departmental personnel.

  • Monitors and maintains housekeeping throughout the plant.

  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to drive change.
  • Ability to solve process and production issues independently.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Office to include Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • 1-3 years of demonstrated leadership experience required.
  • 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment required.
  • 5 years corrugated experience with a strong background in Flexo folder gluers preferred.
  • Knowledge of KIWI software a plus.
  • Must be able to work all shifts - 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift.
  • Must be available to work weekends
