Description
We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support and strengthen enterprise network security operations in Phoenix, Arizona. This Long-term Contract position focuses on protecting critical infrastructure through hands-on firewall administration, security controls management, and ongoing environment optimization. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience with cyber security practices, Check Point platforms, Cisco ASA, and configuration management in complex technical environments.
Responsibilities:
Administer and enhance network security controls to protect systems, applications, and data across the enterprise environment.
Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Check Point and Cisco ASA firewall platforms to support secure and reliable connectivity.
Evaluate firewall rules, access policies, and segmentation standards to reduce risk and improve overall security posture.
Monitor security infrastructure performance and resolve issues that affect availability, compliance, or protection effectiveness.
Partner with technical teams to implement security changes, validate configurations, and support controlled updates to production environments.
Maintain accurate configuration records and documentation to support audits, operational consistency, and change management activities.
Conduct security reviews of existing network designs and recommend improvements aligned with best practices and business needs.
Support incident response and remediation efforts by analyzing firewall activity, investigating suspicious behavior, and applying corrective actions.
Requirements
Hands-on experience in cyber security engineering with a focus on network and infrastructure protection.
Strong working knowledge of Check Point firewall administration and policy management.
Practical experience managing Cisco ASA security appliances in enterprise environments.
Solid understanding of firewall technologies, traffic filtering, access control, and secure network architecture.
Experience with configuration management processes, documentation standards, and controlled change implementation.
Ability to diagnose security infrastructure issues and implement effective technical solutions.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams.
