About the Role
We are looking for a PSA Engineer Network/Transmission to join our EMS Platform Services team, focusing on the development, integration, and support of advanced Energy Management System (EMS) solutions for power system operations. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in network and transmission analysis within EMS platforms and a strong background in real-time, mission-critical environments. This role involves working on high-availability systems that enable reliable energy management and control, ensuring operational excellence for utility and transmission networks.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement network and transmission applications within the EMS platform environment.
Execute full lifecycle development, including feature enhancements, system integration, and maintenance of real-time control applications.
Perform rigorous testing activities such as Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), integration testing, and on-site commissioning.
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues to maintain system reliability and uptime.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (controls, networking, communications) for seamless system integration.
Maintain comprehensive documentation, configuration management, and testing protocols.
Provide direct technical support to customers, addressing issues, and delivering system improvements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives and assess emerging technologies for EMS applications.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
7+ years of experience in EMS, SCADA, or real-time application development.
Hands-on experience with EMS platform systems (mandatory).
Strong proficiency in UNIX/Linux and Windows environments.
Programming expertise in C, C++, SQL, and shell scripting.
Knowledge of real-time data acquisition, system integration, and communication protocols.
Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex environments.
Strong communication skills for interfacing with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to travel occasionally for site testing and commissioning.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with version control tools (e.g., ClearCase, Git) and change management processes.
Familiarity with SCADA networking protocols (DNP3, ICCP, Modbus) and real-time databases.
Background in power grid operations, energy transmission, or utility systems.
Detail-oriented with a process-driven approach.
Self-motivated and capable of working independently or in collaborative teams.
