Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP ILM Technical Architect to lead the design and execution of SAP Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) architecture for an SAP BRIM Archiving Project. The role requires deep expertise in SAP ILM, data archiving strategy, retention management, and SAP BRIM/S/4HANA landscapes.

The architect will own technical architecture decisions, compliance alignment, archiving strategy, and stakeholder engagement while working closely with SAP functional, technical, and BASIS teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own the SAP ILM architecture for SAP BRIM data archiving and retention.
• Define archiving strategies, data objects, retention rules, and lifecycle policies aligned with business and compliance requirements.
• Lead SAP ILM configuration and technical design, including object selection, rule assignment, and data flow design.
• Work closely with SAP BRIM, S/4HANA, Functional, Technical, and BASIS teams to ensure successful implementation.
• Support data readiness, mock runs, validation, and production execution of archiving activities.
• Ensure adherence to data privacy, legal hold, retention, audit, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks related to data volume, performance, system stability, and archiving execution.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and support teams.
• Prepare and maintain architecture documents, technical designs, procedures, and operational runbooks.
• Support cutover, go-live, and post-archiving validation activities.
• Collaborate with onsite and offshore teams to ensure effective delivery and knowledge transfer.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience as an SAP ILM Technical Architect.
• Proven expertise in SAP ILM architecture, data archiving, retention management, and lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of SAP BRIM and SAP S/4HANA data models.
• Experience working on large-scale SAP archiving or system lifecycle management projects.
• Strong knowledge of compliance, audit, data privacy, legal retention, and legal hold requirements.
• Experience with SAP ILM configuration, archiving objects, retention rules, and lifecycle policies.
• Excellent stakeholder communication, architecture ownership, and technical leadership skills.

Preferred / Secondary Skills

• Experience with SAP ILM Store.
• Experience with SAP Retention Management and Legal Hold.
• Exposure to SAP BRIM modules such as:
• FICA
• Convergent Invoicing (CI)
• Convergent Mediation
• Experience working in regulated or audit-driven enterprise environments.
• Experience with high-volume SAP data archiving and performance optimization.
• Ability to work effectively in onsite-offshore delivery models.
